Modem trouble.

Jonathan Versen defiantly asserts:: since I dunno if you got my last msg, here's a follow up-- the modem I got is a PCI modem, therefore an internal modem. I also have an old Creative Labs ISA 56k modem, which is one of the best modems I've ever used, but hardly any modern PCs have any ISA slots, as I'm sure you know.

I'm not accustomed to being online in public. It's kinda like one of those dreams of being in a store and discovering you're not wearing pants.

Jon, thanks for looking in your bucket of parts for a spare. Took me a while to snag a modem, but I finally did and it should be here by the weekend.
